DR TUA
HAPPY BIRTHDAY USO
It was in June 2022 that we were given the opportunity to gift our Toa Samoa with Matai Watches' very first timepiece - The Genesis.
I recall walking through the doors and being in the security industry for a long time, my first instinct was to scan and read the room.
The atmosphere was quite tense, the Toa Samoa boys hadn't entered the room yet, and family and friends were waiting for the players to come in. I remember spotting this Uso because his ie faitaga had Dr on it, and I thought to myself, "Po o le a le matātā faapitoa a le uso lea?".
The Uso took centre stage and opened the presentation with, "Man! This feels like I'm at a funeral rather than a presentation!" . With that first line, the Uso had the crowd in an uproar and held everyone's attention in that room.
I have been fortunate to have met the Uso - to witness the Dr light up any room he walks into, seeing the Dr at work defusing awkward situations, catching up when overseas at the RSA Club, Samoa and the late nights with him at Pinati's restaurant
Ladies and Gentlemen, the man that needs no introduction, the Doctor himself, the heartbreak specialist I introduce to you our very own Dr Tua, le afioga ia Asiata.
